Why Las Cruces, Why La Tierra Escondida

Posted May 6th, 2010

On Wednesday, April 21 I was watching Fox and Friends as I was dressing for work. Donald Trump was on by telephone, and proclaimed, "This is a great time to buy real estate." The retort from the commentator was something like, "That's because you have a lot of real estate for sale.  To that Mr. Trump quietly said, "Well I'm buying as much as I can." Like the Donald or not, he knows real estate.

He's not the only one who thinks this is a great time to buy real estate. Las Cruces and Dona Ana County are quietly on the move.  In a recent publication by the State Home Builders Association, Dona Ana County out paced Bernalillo County in new home permits in 2009.  That is an interesting little statistic considering Bernalillo County is more than three and half times more populated than Dona Ana County.  The local economy is strong.  Interest rates are at all time lows. Most importantly, people from around the country have discovered Las Cruces, and the exceptional real estate values; which means they'll be coming for years into the future.

Recognized as one of the countries "Future Cities" (ref http://www.sunset.com/travel/most-innovative-cities-00400000064623/page2.html) by Sunset magazine Las Cruces is poised to grow substantially over the next decade, and also, rated as a Top Ten Recovery City 2010 (ref http://www.relocateamerica.com/top-100-cities/2010/top-10-recovery-cities.cfm) by Relocate America.  All of this means only one thing, if you ever wanted to be in the right place at the right time,

how to show on the website. During the normal economy 50 + lots in phase one sold out in less then 4 months.  At the end of 2006 we opened 63 more lots in phase two.  Currently we have 36 available, 14 were sold in the last twelve months. New homes are popping up all over the subdivision, and more are submitting plans for ARC review.  Current residents have begun buying additional lots, and the first spec in 4 years is getting ready to start.
